When I was in kindergarten, my class went onto public television to announce what we wanted to be when we grew up. We were the high school graduating class of 2000 & that felt like a big deal. My classmates wanted to be professional baseball players, lawyers, newscasters & Olympians. But me? I wanted to be “an artist & housewife.”
As you can imagine, I got lots of giggles & snickers from the audience but fast forward 30 years, guess what!?
I’m a yoga instructor, musician, writer & studio owner who gets to decide her own hours & schedule. I get to split my week between work & family, plus I can bring my babies to work! While the label of “housewife” is antiquated (and let’s be honest, it takes a small army to handle our domestic responsibilities), I think what I was tying to convey in 1987 were my core values of community & creativity.
With creativity & community in mind, starting 7/11 we’re offering an 11:30am family rhythm circle at my studio for 6 weeks. All ages welcome.
Dance to the Rhythm of Your Own Drum
Join the circle. Grab a drum or shaker & sing your little heart out.
We sing all the classics: Twinkle Twinkle, Old McDonald, Beatles, Rolling Stones, Bob Marley & much, much more…
Bring your lunch or buy a snack.
