Cultivating courage and confidence

Brigitte Kouba Neves, better known as Gigi Yogini, teaches yoga in a way that promotes confidence and courage, both on and off the mat. As an advocate for body positivity and healthy body image, her classes are designed to strengthen both the body and the mind with progressive sequencing, options for modifications, and a constant reminder to listen to the wisdom of your inner teacher.

Well-rounded teaching style

An E-RYT 500 (Expert Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher with over 500 hours of certified training), Gigi has been teaching ferociously since 2009. Her signature styles include the YogaWorks method, Vinyasa flow, Tantra Kundalini, Yin/Restorative, and Yoga for Kids. Regardless of the style and audience of the class, Gigi teaches with compassion, encouragement and a hint of humor.

Creating a Body Positive yoga community

Gigi’s gives women of all ages, shapes, sizes, backgrounds and abilities the tools and resources to love their bodies. In 2014, she started a blog called YOGAudacious to celebrate the courage of women who love yoga. From this work, she was inspired to co-create the Yoga and Body Image Coalition with a progressive community of doctors, teachers, experts and advocates of the Body Positive cause. While she is no longer directly involved with the Coalition, she still continues to promote their work and hosts “Love YOUR Yoga Body” events nationwide.

In recognition of her work, Gigi has been featured in a variety of magazines including the Yoga Journal blog, Mantra Magazine, LA Yoga Magazine and she was listed as one of Origin Magazine’s “Most Beautiful Women Portraying Strength, Passion and Vision” as well as Athleta’s “100 Women to Watch in Wellness.” She has been an Ambassador of Affirmats, FitFit Activewear, lululemon athletica, Manduka and YogaEarth.
